Kaleidoscope Prototype

* Materials :
- Wood (Marie wood is used here);
- PVC sheet;
- acrylic mirror;
- cardboard mailing container cylinder (2 different sizes);
- black paper;
- masking tapes;
- screws;
- door hinge;
- 1 white LED (wide angle);
- 1 LDR;
- 230Ω resistor;
- 1kΩ resistor;
- wires;
- 1 button/ switch;
- 3 Volts battery;
- arduino;
- computer (with Processing and Arduino);



* Cutting the wood according to the design.


* Cutting a circle out of the PVC sheet (diameter = diameter of the large mailing container).
* Inside the cut out circle, another circle is cut (diameter = diameter of the small mailing container).
* Cut 2 of these.


* Large mailing container (7 cm in height).


* Small mailing container (31.6 cm in height).


* Assembled box (taped before gluing).
* Cut out circles to fit the small mailing container in.
* The bottom circle is a bit further (near to the end of the plate) than the top circle (located at the center of the plate) to get an approximately 45 degree tilt.


* Two cut out PVC sheet circles are glued to the large mailing container.


* The previous box is too large for the mailing containers (unbalanced look).
* Cut another box. (image above: parts of the box).


* Drill a hole.
