Experiments - User Test

Major Interactive - In search of a solution

* Problem in Floor Mat switch.
- Short life span. After a few users step on it a few times, the upper part of the mat may not be able to lift up, resulting the upper part and lower part of the mat get into contact and lights up the light.

* Solution for Floor Mat Switch (probability).
- Put more stripes of bubble wrap in the middle of the mat.
- Uses sponge instead of bubble wrap.
- Uses blue sponge (Hai used it before).

* Problem in Photoresistor.
- Changes in value and the intensity of the light. The photoresistor takes the amount of light as its value. Unlike a switch, which has only 2 values, On and Off, photoresistor has a range of values. The intensity of light varies (depends on the sunlight during daytime as well).

* Solution for Photoresistor (probability).
- Edwin's recommendation : build a stand for the laser pointer to let the infrared light shines the LDR directly and precisely (It is not stable at the moment).
- Build a black container to hold the LDR.

* Photoresistor try out on a direct sunlight.

* Very low intensity of light (Covered the LDR tightly).

* Unstable laser pointer.

* Color user test :
- Teresa and Hai agreed that Green LED is the brightest and Orange LED is the second brightest.
- Edwin's opinion on meaning of colors, Red LED is more suitable to represent danger while Green LED is a calming light.
- Teresa's suggestion to use Orange LED instead, besides it is the second brightest, it also signifies warning in traffic lights system.
