*Topic : Fireflies

*Flashing lights and behaviors of fireflies

*LDR to control the amount of light

*Idea : The theme of the work is firefly. There will be 2 fireflies in total, a female firefly and a male firefly. Both fireflies will flash a light if they are in a dark place. A flashing light circuit is attached in each firefly. The male firefly will flash a light in every 5 seconds whereas the female firefly will flash a light in every 2 seconds. The flashing light comes from the very last part of the body, the abdomen of the firefly. There is a light source that is controlled by a switch that will shine from above. Whenever the light is switched on, the fireflies will not flash any light whereas if the light is switched off, both fireflies will produce flashing lights. Another behaviour of firefly that can be added is their movements. They will sleep doing the day and work during night, which means the firefly will move only if it is dark. The setup of the work is shown in the image below. The male firefly is sticking on the tree and the female firefly is lying down on the grass. The light source is hanging on the tree.
